Celebrating light, innovation and Universal Children’s Day!

Citygrid and partners have unveiled a 2.5 km smart-lit trail in Fagerhult, showcasing energy-efficient lighting and community collaboration.

2024-11-22

On November 20th, Citygrid proudly unveiled a groundbreaking 2.5 km illuminated trail in Fagerhult, developed in collaboration with Habo Municipality. This innovative project not only highlights cutting-edge smart lighting technology but also serves as a beacon of community spirit and sustainability.

The trail features 67 luminaires from multiple brands, all seamlessly integrated with Citygrid’s advanced smart lighting control system. Designed as a testbed, the trail enables Citygrid to refine its software for various luminaire types, pushing the boundaries of intelligent and sustainable lighting solutions for public spaces. By demonstrating how diverse products can work harmoniously through Citygrid, the project sets a new standard for energy-efficient and adaptive lighting systems.

A Magical Celebration

The inauguration coincided with Universal Children’s Day, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for the community. Preschool children played a starring role, proudly showcasing handmade lanterns in a light procession along the trail. Their glowing creations added a magical touch to the evening, capturing the hearts of attendees.

Beyond the beauty of the lanterns, the event carried a deeper purpose. The children’s participation was part of a fundraiser for UNICEF, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting children worldwide. This meaningful collaboration underscored the values of connection, innovation, and care for future generations.

Advancing Sustainability and Safety

Citygrid’s smart lighting system exemplifies the company’s mission to create solutions that balance sustainability with human needs. The system minimizes energy waste by dynamically adjusting lighting based on activity, ensuring the right light at the right time and place. As a result, trails like this one not only enhance safety and usability but also significantly reduce energy consumption and light pollution.

David Westergren from Citygrid shared insights into the project during the event, emphasizing how it blends innovative technology with community collaboration to create brighter, smarter public spaces.

A Bright Future

The Fagerhult trail is more than just a showcase for advanced technology; it represents the power of partnerships between businesses, municipalities, and communities to drive meaningful change. Citygrid is proud to play a role in lighting the way toward a more sustainable, connected, and innovative future.
